As we age, the amount of lutein in the macula of our retinas decreases over time. Since our bodies cannot produce lutein, it is essential to consume it regularly through our diet. To intake 20mg of lutein, you would need to eat about 1.3 bunches of spinach. If it is challenging to get enough lutein from your regular meals, taking a lutein supplement is recommended.
